Your kids don’t use smartphones the way you do #infographic

If your kids get to use your smartphone more than you do then have a look at this infographic, which shows how parents and kids see and use the latest mobile tech differently.

According to a survey of Canadian smartphone owners younger users depend on their phones for entertainment as much as education.  Some even reported that their smartphones helped them with their love lives.

For parents, they said that smartphones and social networks helped them keep track of where their kids were and brought their families closer together.  Some 10% said they brag about their kids on Facebook (we’re not sure the kid like that too much!).  Nearly half of all parents (43%) said they needed help from their kids to use their phones.

Parents downloaded fewer apps than their children and were less likely to use rich media apps for watching movies or listening to music.

But both parents and kids did share one app experience – text messaging.
