RTÉ News Now app for iPad home screen
RTÉ have today launched an iPad specific version of their popular RTÉ News Now application already available on Android and iOS devices. This app exists independent of the original iOS News Now app and is tailored specifically for the Apple iPad.
The free app offers access to RTÉ’s news content under the broad headings of news, sport, business, and entertainment (still no technology category). Unfortunately, only the latest national and international headline stories are given, with no archived content to be found. On a plus side, users can watch RTÉ’s rolling news service and listen to a selection of podcasts using the app anywhere in the world.
There is also some nice Facebook, Twitter, and email integration, allowing users to easily publish stories to their streams, or share articles with friends.
Muime Laffan, executive director of RTÉ Publishing, stated,
“Building on the success of the RTÉ News Now app for iPhone and Android, the release of our News Now app for iPad continues to meet the needs of our audience for delivering up-to-the-minute, dynamic RTÉ content across a widening range of platforms”.
