Facebook now serving one trillion pageviews each month

Facebook served over one trillion pageviews in June and again in July of this year, according to data from Google’s advertising services subsidiary DoubleClick. The data is estimated by Google, but in our own experience is very accurate.

In July 2011, the social network amassed 860 million unique visitors, approximately 100 million more than Facebook’s estimated 750 million user base. DoubleClick estimates Facebook’s reach at 50.1% of the global online audience. The average Facebook user spent a massive 25 minutes on the site during a single session.

Facebook: Daily unique visitors

Regarding age groups, 12% of Facebook users are under 17 years of age, 9% are between 18 and 24 years, 22% between 25 and 34 years, 24% between 35 and 44, 22% between 45 and 54, 7% between 55 and 64, and just 2% are aged 65 or more.

35% of Facebook users earn €18,000 or less, 16% earn between €18,001 and €27,000, 16% again earn between €27,001 and €36,000, 24% earn between €36,001 and €54,000, 5% earn between €54,001 and €72,000, while just 3% earn more than €72,001.

Both genders are represented equally on Facebook.

Other large internet properties like YouTube do compare somewhat with 710 million unique visitors in July 2011, although YouTube only managed to serve 100 billion pageviews during this period, significantly less than Facebook.
