Facebook to launch ‘Gmail killer’ [Breaking News]

Facebook will launch a revamped email application on Monday, in direct competition to Gmail.

TechCrunch reports that the new  application, which will automatically be included in user Facebook accounts, will now become a fully fledged webmail client. This upgrade is reportedly  being described as a ‘Gmail killer’ by Facebook staff.

As part of the upgrade Facebook users will be given the @facebook.com address.

We will have more information as it happens.
