Twitter is looking for you to work in its Dublin office

Only a week after Twitter announced it will open international office in Dublin the company has begun searching for staff. Even though it hasn’t announced where in the city its office will be located.

Appropriately enough Twitter is looking for an experienced Human Resource manager to be their first Irish employee.  According to the job offering the successful candidate will be based in Dublin but “serve as a consultant across the organization, to shepherd the core values and to protect the culture.”

They go on to say, “you will be a strategic partner and provide your HR expertise to employees and leadership across the company in the areas of feedback, employee relations, development and coaching, compensation, conflict resolution and organizational structure.

This role will be our lead HRBP for our international (i.e. non-U.S.) office. You will work closely with your assigned groups (both in Dublin and abroad) to ensure that the practices, programs and initiatives here at Twitter are consistent with our core values. You will also work with the leadership to help them inspire and achieve great performance from their teams. In a nutshell, we put our people and their success/development first and you will help support and drive that effort on a daily basis in many different ways.”

If you want the job Twitter says you’ll need over seven years HR experience or a university degree and be familiar with Irish, E.U. and some Asian employment law.  Some  experience working in international companies is a requirement.

Speaking to Dublin-basted @diarmy last week Twitter confirmed it will be posting multiple jobs in the near future.

The news comes even though Twitter and Ireland’s Industrial Development Authority have not confirmed where Twitter’s Dublin office will be located. One of the few details we do we do know is that Twitter’s Dublin office will look after financial, user support, and marketing matters.

Writing on Silicon Republic, who broke the story, John Kennedy said, Twitter will likely join Ireland’s other technology and social giants, such as Google and Facebook, in Dublin D2/D4 post code.  Silicon Republic wrote, “Last week, the entire country got a nice little lift when the news broke that Twitter was locating its international operations in Dublin city. A spokesman for IDA Ireland told Siliconrepublic.com that the social networking powerhouse had shortlisted a number of office in Dublin 2 and Dublin 4, close to where other major social media giants like Zynga and Facebook have located operations.”

Apart from Zynga, Facebook, and Google, Twitter joins Microsoft, PayPal, Activision, LinkedIn, PopCap, and others in Dublin.  Speaking last week the head of Google’s Vice-President of Global Ad Operations, John Herlihy said the company was delighted Twitter was coming to Ireland.
