Google Maps shows high resolution Aviva Stadium under construction

Google’s recent update of its Irish Google maps images, which we reported on yesterday contains high resolution images of the €410 million, 63,802 sq.m Aviva Stadium under construction.

The stadium, which was built for between 2007 and 2010 can be seen in the early part of its construction – probably during the first six months of 2009, before the roof was added or pitch constructed (in November 2009). This would match the time Google’s Streetview cars were collecting images in Ireland. The satellite imagery shows cranes in the stadium constructing the stands.
