Prosessor Brian Cox and Dara O'Briain who will host Stargazing LIVE
The BBC are broadcasting live over three consecutive nights of “extraordinary astronomical events” from across the UK and further afield in a BBC programme known as Stargazing LIVE. Professor Brian Cox (@profbriancox) and comedian Dara O’Briain (@daraobriain) host the live stargazing events that promise “epic images from observatories around the globe”.
The programme appeals to professionals and amateur astronomers alike, providing a crash course in stargazing. It teaches observation and photography techniques over three busy celestial days, including a meteor shower, a partial eclipse of the sun, and our biggest planet Jupiter.
Presenter Jonathon Ross (@wossy) features in the show and discovers that stargazing is possible without expensive equipment. Liz Bonnin also reports live from Hawaii and explains the formation of Earth and how stars affect us.
The programme will be broadcast on BBC 2 from tomorrow, Monday January 3rd 2011, and runs for three consecutive nights, with each episode airing at 8pm [GMT].
