Grafton Media has been named as the headline sponsor of Blog Awards Ireland 2012, an event that will celebrate the best of Irish blogging and, at the same time, assemble blogging communities together from all over the island at the Osprey Hotel in Naas this autumn.
WordPress founder Matt Mullenweg published some impressive platform statistics earlier this week that show the content management system's continued phenomenal growth this year. WordPress now powers 14.7% of the top million websites, up from 8.5% one year ago, and perhaps more interestingly, 22% of all new active domains in the US run WordPress.
Nominations for one of Ireland's old digital media awards, the Irish Internet Association's (IIA) Net Visionary Awards, ends this Friday (July 29) and as the deadline approaches more details about the awards are being released.
Facebook has been stung by its own PR firm in an underhand plot to feed negative stories about Google to the press. The plot came to light after the influential US blogger and online security and privacy expert Chris Soghoian published an email thread between himself and the Facebook's PR firm Burson-Marsteller.
