Sony announced this morning that its latest handheld gaming device, PS Vita, has sold 1.2 million units as of February 26, exceeding internal company expectations.
Sony has announced that 3.9 million PlayStation 3 consoles were sold worldwide over the Christmas sales season, with the company well on track to reaching its 15 million unit annual sales target in the fiscal year ending this March.
Sony are preparing for the launch of PlayStation Vita in Japan next month by releasing a new PlayStation 3 system software update (v4.0) later this week. The update will allow for sharing of digital content between PS Vita and PS3.
Sony have posted an update to their European PlayStation blog confirming that hackers are to blame for the on-going PlayStation Network (PSN) outage.
