Arianna Huffington, editor of the Huffington Post Media Group, has confirmed that her popular news and content aggregation website, The Huffington Post, will launch in the UK this coming July 6th. This launch is part of the group’s ambitious plans to be present in 12 countries by the end of this year.
YouTube is celebrating 50 years of manned space flight by premiering a feature length film which recreates Yury Gagarin’s first orbit in outer space. The film combines original audio and video recordings of the flight with HD footage taken from the International Space Station. A new score was written epsessially for the piece by composer Philip Sheppard.
American news website and content aggregator The Huffington Post will be acquired by AOL for $315 million US dollars, in a deal expected to close in the coming months. Huffington Post co-founder Arianna Huffington will become president and editor-in-chief of a new Huffington Post Media Group, which will include The Huffington Post and other AOL content properties, including recently acquired TechCrunch, gadget blog Endadget, and micro-local news service Patch.
