Gardaí warn of sophisticated AIB ATM skimming scam in operation

Gardaí and the National Consumer agency today warned ATM consumers to careful of very convincing skimming devices that have been found attached to AIB ATMs. Devises have been found fitted over the newer-style AIB ATMs which convincingly mimic the design of the distinctive green AIB ATM card slots. The only give away that the skimming device are attach is the square ‘handle’ on the top of the card slot.

The most searched term on Google News in UK & Ireland during 2010 – “jesus loves you”

“Jesus loves you” was the most searched term on Google News in the UK and Ireland in 2010, according to Google Insights for Search. In Ireland the term was 20 times more popular than “ireland“, the next highest ranking term. “Jesus loves you” even outranked search terms such as “gerry ryan“, “weather” and “haiti“. In the UK it was 10 times more popular than the second search term “news“.

Watch the solstice sunrise over Newgrange live

While our North American friend will be treated to a rare total lunar eclipse on Tuesday, during which the sky will turn blood red, Irish eyes will be set on the midwinter sunrise. On Tuesday the Irish broadcaster RTÉ will be live streaming the annual illumination of Newgrange passage online from 8:55am.
