Internet Expo, the first ever event of its kind in Ireland will take place in the RDS, Dublin this October 14th-15th. The two-day exhibition will help Irish and international businesses showcase their products and services to an anticipated 3,000 strong attendance.
We spoke to Tim Graham, one of the event organisers who explained their rationale behind establishing Internet Expo in Ireland. He described how the “Internet is now essential to how all types of businesses and organisations function” and that witnessing similar events in the UK, such as Internet World, convinced them that a similar opportunity existed in Ireland.
When asked about what kind of exhibitors one could expect to see at the expo, Tim stated that Internet Expo will be “showcasing products and services across the whole spectrum of Internet products”, and that these would include companies involved in “digital and mobile marketing, e-commerce and m-commerce, hardware and mobile, digital media, connectivity and hosting and content management”. Exhibitors will range from “some of the world’s largest technology companies, to smaller web development agencies, government departments and training organisations”.
“The Internet is one of the most exciting and growing areas in Ireland’s economy” – Internet Expo
Traditionally exhibitions have always been a great way for companies to showcase their products and services. By taking part in Internet Expo, exhibitors are given the opportunity to “reach thousands of buyers for their products and services, build their brand, launch new products and get to meet new and existing customers face to face”, explained Tim.
There will also be a number of educational seminars at the event catering from beginners to advanced users. The seminars will be a series of Internet practicals which will provide attendees with skills and advice on conducting business online successfully.
Internet Expo 2011 is run in association with the Irish Internet Association (IIA) and supported by media sponsor The Irish Times.
