RTÉ.ie is Ireland’s largest online media property

RTÉ.ie is Ireland’s largest online media property serving 4.4 million monthly unique visitors, that’s according to the recently published ABC Island of Ireland report.

The report’s figures are concerned with the month of May and reflect favourable on the national broadcaster’s efforts in digital. RTÉ’s main domain (rte.ie), it’s mobile specific domain (m.rte.ie), the RTÉ News Now mobile app and the RTÉ Player app collectively amassed 4.4 million unique visitors during the month, totalling 117.2 million page views. Altogether, the RTÉ online platform served 6.5 million video streams.

RTÉ’s most trafficked day in May was the first of the month, receiving 467,798 unique visitors. It’s daily average unique visitors stands at just over 415,000.

As you’d expect, most of RTÉ’s online visitors came from Ireland – although it is expanding its presence and offerings globally. 63% of unique visitors came from Ireland, while almost 75% of impressions came from Ireland, suggesting that us Irish were more engaged with the content published.

RTÉ’s suite of mobile apps for iOS and Android also performed well, with their growth described as “phenomenal”. Both its News Now app and Player app garnered 417,972 unique visitors throughout the month, totalling in 54,217,934 page impressions.
