ESB ecars and Topaz have launched Ireland’s first electric vehicle fast-charge point in Coolshannagh, Co. Monaghan. This follows on from agreements between ESB ecars, Topaz, The Maxol Group, and Lidon last month that the roll-out of fast-charge points at service stations throughout the country would commence in May.
NASA's MODIS Rapid Response, an emergency response system that provides near real-time satellite "thermal anomaly" imagery, has captured this image of gorse fires raging across parts of the north and west of Ireland. The image was taken yesterday afternoon as strong winds and prolonged recent dry spells have driven gorse, bog, and forest fires "out of control" in Donegal, Down, Galway, Mayo and parts of Fermanagh, Monaghan and Tyrone.
With only a short time to go to the 2011 census night on April 10 the Central Statistics Office has released an infographic explaining how this year’s form was created.According to the graphic over 2 million census forms will be printed this year, these will be delivered to every home in the country from 440 regional offices. After the April 10 census night the forms will be collected, scanned and analysed for publication by the CSO from July.
