As anticipation mounts over Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3's near-global release on November 8th, Activision, the game's publisher, has released this live action trailer featuring Jonah Hill, Dwight Howard and Sam Worthington.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 has been confirmed for release this autumn and will directly continue on from where the storyline left off in the second-last installation, Modern Warfare 2, of the hugely successful game franchise. Last year’s release, Call of Duty: Black Ops, was the most successful game of all time, breaking opening day sales records and grossing $360 million in its first twenty-four hours alone, exceeding Modern Warfare 2 sales by $50 million.
To celebrate Social Media week 2011, Skype will be giving away freey WiFi access in eight cities around the world. Citizens in New York, San Francisco, Rome, Paris, Toronto, Sao Paulo, Hong Kong and Istanbul, who use Skype Access, will be able to make VOIP calls and surf for free at public WiFi hotspots for free during the week.
Ireland and the UK will see their first solar eclipse of the new year on Tuesday (4th January). The partial eclipse will be visiable across the British Isles from 8:00am and will last until about 9:30am. At its peak the moon will obscure about 66% of the sun, although the amounts will vary depending on location. The eclipse will also be visible over much of Europe, North Africa and central Asia.
The Dakar Rally, one of the largest off road endurance rallies in the world, has launched from Buenos Aires. The Dakar is now a fully digital event supported by YouTube, Twitter and Facebook pages. You can get live updates on each stage of the challenge on their site and on the official Dakar iPhone/iPod/iPad app. The organisers have also released an online video game to accompany the event.
